A New Latex Pillow That Guarantees Nightly Comfort & Support
Many latex pillows are reviewed as overly dense, with too much of a bounce to feel comfortable…
We set out to change this. And that’s how the Sleeping Organic shredded latex pillow was born.
Beyond natural latex foam…
Latex pillows reviewed as overly supportive are latex foam pillows, which are much different than a pillow filled with shredded latex. Commonly sold at stores like Costco or on Amazon, latex foam pillows are static, bouncy, and can’t be adjusted. So if the pillow isn’t comfortable enough for you, there isn’t much you can do.
These complaints are common amongst back and stomach sleepers, who need a much different type of pillow than side sleepers do. Sleeping Organic’s shredded latex pillow goes beyond latex foam, instantly solving these common problems.
Introducing our shredded latex pillow
This excels exactly where traditional latex pillows drop the ball: customizability. With the Sleeping Organic pillow, you’re able to completely adjust the shred filling’s placement to comfortably suit the needs of your specific sleep style.
Customizable to Perfectly Fit Your Head and Neck
Loft describes a pillow’s height as it lays flat on your bed. And when you’re buying a new neck pillow, you generally need to choose between high loft and low loft.
With our pillow, you can customize the loft to suit your needs.
High loft
Pillows with a “high loft” are generally described as fluffier than pillows with a low loft. Whether it’s stuffed with latex, cotton, kapok, or any other organic pillow material, a high loft pillow will always have more filling than low loft.
Low loft
A low loft pillow will lay flatter on your bed than any pillow with a higher loft because they have less filling. Even with a materials like shredded latex, this flat pillow typically results in a firmer feel, which is ideal for back sleepers.
Adding or removing shred to adjust your pillow’s loft
A key benefit of the Sleeping Organic pillow is that you can adjust the amount of latex fill. If you want a pillow with high loft, then you can add extra shred. If you want a pillow with low loft, you can remove as much shred as you’d like! Buyer’s note: because every sleeper’s style is unique, we send your pillow generously filled with enough shred to consider it “high loft.” Doing so gives you unlimited customization options because you can either leave it “as is,” or remove shred to make it a lower loft (best for back sleepers).
The Best Latex Pillow for Every Type of Sleeper
If you’re a back sleeper, you need a pillow with lower loft so your head won’t be tilted at an angle as you sleep. If your pillow has too high of a loft, there’s a good chance you’ll wake up with neck pain, upper back pain, or both. If you’re a back sleeper with the wrong pillow loft, these aches and pains happen because your head was in an unnatural position as you slept.
Out of all sleeper types, back sleepers generally require the lowest loft latex neck pillow. But how low depends on a number of factors. Specifically; the size and weight of your head, the size and weight of your upper body, and even how firm the mattress you’re sleeping on is.
Why does mattress firmness matter for finding the perfect pillow?
If you’re a back sleeper who sleeps on an extra soft mattress with lots of give, you’ll sink into your bed differently than if you were sleeping on an extra firm mattress. This is why we ship all our pillow with extra shred, so you never have to worry about it feeling perfect (no matter what your sleep style is).
Much like back sleepers, stomach sleepers need a flatter, lower loft pillow in order to enjoy a comfortable night’s sleep. Otherwise, your head will be held at an angle and you’ll wake up with stiffness in the side of your neck, back of your neck, and even your aches in your upper back.
What firmness makes the best pillow for stomach sleepers?
For stomach sleepers, you’ll likely want an extra firm latex pillow. Removing some shred from your new Sleeping Organic pillow is recommended because it will ensure your spine stays straight as you sleep. The best way to describe this is that you want your spine completely aligned and flush with your bed’s surface. As mentioned in our explanation for the pillow needs of back sleepers above, your exact needs depend on a number of factors. So when you get your pillow, customize it your way to make it feel perfect!
Unlike back sleepers and stomach sleepers, side sleepers generally need to sleep on a higher loft (firmer) pillow in order to avoid neck pain. This firmer pillow fits perfectly with a side sleepers style.
Why do side sleepers need high loft pillows?
During sleep, the act of side sleeping creates a gap between their shoulder and head. If their pillow is either too soft or has too low of a low, the side sleeper’s head will tilt down at an angle much like a back sleeper’s head if their pillow has too high of a loft. To solve this problem, a high loft pillow will fill the space between your shoulder and head so your spins stays straight and your head and neck don’t tilt at an angle as you sleep.
Active sleepers often report having a tough time finding the right pillow. A bouncy pillow that feels comfortable while sleeping in one position will feel horrible when your sleep position changes and you need something more firm. Without an adjustable pillow, the only solution is to sleep with two pillows so you can swap one out when your sleep position changes. Not very practical, a double pain in the neck! And if you’re an active sleeper, you’ve certainly felt this back and forth struggle…
Fortunately for active sleepers, our shredded latex pillows offer a solution to your tossing and turning. Instead of swapping pillows or settling on being uncomfortable, you can simply adjust the position of the shred inside your pillow as you change positions. To make part of the pillow lower loft, all you have to do is push some of the shred to one side. If you’re sleeping on your back or stomach, this will be ideal for you. Then when you change back to sleeping on your side, you can either move to the other side of the pillow, or fluff the pillow a bit to even out all the shred.
The Benefits of Latex Pillows
Latex naturally ventilates and breathes, making it more of a cooling pillow than memory foam pillows. This is due to the “open cell structure” of latex, compared to the “closed cell structure” of materials like memory foam.
Why do memory foam pillows sleep hot?
Memory foam pillows sleep hot because there are plasticizers in the material, which your body heats up as it lays on top of the memory foam. Plasticizers are essentially plastic, or PVCs. These are chemicals that are not included in any of Sleeping Organic’s 100% natural latex. This means you’ll not only sleep healthier, but cooler too!
Less moisture, more breathability
The open cell structure of pillows made from shredded latex foam plus the lack of PVCs make it not only more breathable than memory foam style pillows, but dryer too. Pillows filled with latex material (especially shredded) won’t make you sweat like a memory foam pillow, leaving you much drier at night and extending the life of the product.
We’re proud to offer a completely non-toxic pillow that’s free of harmful chemicals, from the cover to the filling itself.
The cover
The zipper-off cover is organic cotton. This means there’s no herbacides, pesticides, fertilizers, or GMOs used throughout the growing, harvesting, and manufacturing processes.
The filling
The latex fill is 100% natural certified latex, which is free of synthetic blends, fillers, and petroleum byproducts. Just as importantly, all our latex is shredded our Charleston, SC mattress warehouse which gives us complete control over the entire manufacturing process as well as the ability to guarantee no harmful chemicals sneak into the product at any stage of production. When a product has a long string of manufacturers, suppliers, and distributors, this is a common occurrence and one we avoid by creating all products ourselves then shipping directly to your door.
Latex is naturally mold, mildew, and dust-mist resistant, which makes it a great natural pillow filling for people with allergies and asthma. A healthy alternative to pillows you’ll find for sale on Amazon or in Costco at impossibly low price-points.
If you keep your adjustable pillow at a high loft, it will be beneficial for reducing snoring. Though we could never guarantee complete snoring prevention, keeping a high loft pillow helps keep your nasal passages open so air can more easily flow in and out of your nose and mouth as you sleep. The natural breathability of latex material and the fact it won’t get very hot throughout the night is an added benefit for snoring reduction.

How to Care for Sleeping Organic Pillow Products
Yes, you can easily zip off the cover to remove it.
This means that if you’d like to use your own cover or want to buy a new cover in the future, you’re completely free to do so without needing to buy a completely new product.
No, the pillow its self is not washable. We recommend a protective case and a pillow case for washing
If you’re buying a new latex pillow, you can expect it to last for at least 5 years at a minimum. However, many customers have reported that the lifespan of their pillow is much longer than 5 years. Towards the end of the “pillow’s life,” you’ll still be able to use it and for many people, it’ll likely still be comfortable too. The downside if there is one will be that some of the pillow’s original ‘bounciness’ may be lost.
