How We Handle Your Information

We take your privacy seriously. This page explains, in plain English, what information Sleeping Organic collects, how we use it, who we share it with, and the choices you have.

Effective Date: April 30, 2026  |  Last Updated: April 30, 2026

Sleeping Organic (“we,” “us,” or “our”) is a family owned mattress company based in North Charleston, South Carolina. We operate the website sleepingorganic.com and sell handcrafted natural latex mattresses, toppers, pillows, and bedding directly to customers across the United States.

This Privacy Policy describes the personal information we collect when you visit our website, place an order, sign up for emails or text messages, or contact our customer service team. It also explains the limited circumstances in which we share that information with the service providers who help us run our business, and the rights you have under applicable US state privacy laws.

If you have questions about anything in this policy, you can call us at (800) 625-4042 or email [email protected].

Information We Collect

We collect two general categories of information: information you give us directly, and information that is collected automatically when you use our site.

Information You Provide

When you place an order, create an account, sign up for our email or SMS lists, leave a product review, or contact us, you may share:

  • Your name, billing address, and shipping address.
  • Your email address and phone number.
  • Order details, including products purchased, firmness selections, and any custom build configurations.
  • Payment information, which you enter directly with our payment processors. We do not store your full card number on our servers.
  • The contents of any messages you send us by email, phone, chat, or contact form.
  • Your SMS opt in choice, if you elect to receive text messages from us.
  • Optional information you provide in product reviews, such as your sleep position or body type.

Information Collected Automatically

When you visit sleepingorganic.com, our site and the analytics services we use automatically collect:

  • Your IP address and general location, such as city or region.
  • Your browser type, device type, and operating system.
  • The pages you view, the order you view them in, and the links you click.
  • The website you came from before arriving at ours, if applicable.
  • Date and time stamps for your visit.

This information is collected through standard server logs and through cookies and similar technologies, described below.

Cookies and Similar Technologies

A cookie is a small file that a website places on your device to remember information about your visit. We use three kinds of cookies:

  • Essential cookies. These keep your shopping cart working, remember that you are logged in, and protect against fraud. The site cannot function properly without them.
  • Analytics cookies. These help us understand how visitors find and use our site so we can improve it. The data is aggregated and not used to identify you personally.
  • Marketing cookies. These let us measure which ads bring people to our site and show you relevant Sleeping Organic ads on other websites.

You can control cookies through your browser settings. Most browsers let you block or delete cookies, or alert you when one is being set. Blocking essential cookies may prevent parts of the site from working correctly.

How We Use Your Information

We use the information described above to run our business and serve our customers. Specifically, we use it to:

  • Process and fulfill your order, including building your custom mattress and arranging shipment.
  • Send order confirmations, shipping notifications, and tracking updates.
  • Respond to customer service questions, warranty claims, and comfort program requests.
  • Process payments and detect or prevent fraudulent transactions.
  • Send marketing emails about new products, sales, and helpful content when you have opted in. You can unsubscribe at any time.
  • Send transactional and, if you opt in, promotional text messages.
  • Improve our website, products, and customer experience.
  • Comply with our legal, tax, accounting, and regulatory obligations.

We do not use your personal information to make automated decisions that produce legal or similarly significant effects.

SMS and Text Messaging

If you opt in to receive text messages from Sleeping Organic, the following terms apply.

Consent

You can opt in to text messages by checking the SMS consent box at checkout, by submitting a phone number on a form that clearly indicates SMS consent, or by texting a keyword to one of our short codes. Your express written consent is required, and consent to receive marketing texts is never a condition of purchase.

Types of Messages

Once you opt in, we may send transactional messages related to your order, such as confirmations, shipping updates, delivery notifications, and tracking links. If you have also opted in to marketing texts, we may send promotional messages about sales, new products, and customer programs.

Frequency, Cost, and Carriers

Message frequency varies based on your activity and preferences. Message and data rates may apply, depending on your mobile carrier plan. Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.

Opt Out and Help

You can stop receiving texts from us at any time by replying STOP to any of our messages. You will receive one final confirmation message and then no further texts. For help, reply HELP or contact us at [email protected].

Privacy of SMS Data

We do not sell or share mobile phone numbers, SMS opt in data, or text message content with third parties for their own marketing purposes. Phone numbers collected for SMS are used only by Sleeping Organic and the messaging vendor that delivers the texts on our behalf.

We do not sell or rent your personal information.

We share information only in the following limited circumstances:

  • With the service providers listed above, so they can perform a specific function for us.
  • With shipping carriers, so they can deliver your order.
  • With our accountants, attorneys, and other professional advisors, when needed and under confidentiality obligations.
  • When required by law, such as in response to a valid subpoena, court order, or government request.
  • To protect the rights, property, or safety of Sleeping Organic, our customers, or others.
  • In connection with a business transfer, such as a merger or sale of all or part of our business. In that case the receiving company will be bound to honor this policy.

Your Privacy Rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the following rights regarding the personal information we hold about you. We honor these rights for all US customers, regardless of whether your state has passed a specific privacy law.

  • Right to know. You can request a copy of the personal information we have collected about you and the categories of third parties we have shared it with.
  • Right to correct. You can ask us to correct information that is inaccurate or out of date.
  • Right to delete. You can ask us to delete your personal information, subject to certain exceptions such as records we must keep for tax, accounting, or legal reasons.
  • Right to opt out of sale or sharing. We do not sell personal information for money. If a future practice qualifies as a “sale” or “sharing for cross context behavioral advertising” under California or other state laws, you may opt out at any time.
  • Right to opt out of marketing. You can unsubscribe from marketing emails by clicking the unsubscribe link in any message, and you can stop SMS messages by replying STOP.
  • Right to non discrimination. We will not deny you service, charge you a different price, or provide a lower quality experience for exercising any of these rights.

To make a request, email [email protected] or call (800) 625-4042. We may need to verify your identity before fulfilling certain requests, typically by confirming details from a recent order. We will respond within the time frame required by your state’s law, generally within 45 days.

You may designate an authorized agent to make a request on your behalf. We may require written authorization and proof that the agent is authorized to act for you.

California “Shine the Light” notice. California residents may request information about the categories of personal information, if any, that we disclosed to third parties for their direct marketing purposes in the prior calendar year. We do not currently disclose personal information for third party direct marketing.

How Long We Keep Your Information

We keep personal information only as long as we need it for the purposes described in this policy.

  • Order records are retained for at least seven years to meet tax, accounting, and warranty obligations.
  • Customer service correspondence is retained for as long as it is reasonably useful for supporting you, typically several years.
  • Email and SMS marketing data is retained until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete it. After that, we keep a minimal suppression record so we do not contact you again.
  • Website analytics data is retained according to the retention settings of the analytics provider, generally 14 to 26 months.

When information is no longer needed, we delete or anonymize it.

How We Protect Your Information

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect personal information against unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, or destruction. These include:

  • TLS encryption for all traffic between your browser and our servers.
  • Tokenization of payment data through our payment processors, so full card numbers never touch our systems.
  • Limiting access to personal information to employees and contractors who need it to do their jobs.
  • Strong password and two factor authentication requirements for our internal systems.
  • Regular software updates and security monitoring on our website infrastructure.

No system is perfectly secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. If we ever discover a breach involving your personal information, we will notify you as required by applicable law.

Children’s Privacy

Our website and products are intended for adults. We do not direct our marketing to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 in violation of the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA). If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us at [email protected] and we will delete it promptly.

Updates to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “Last Updated” date at the top of the page. If the changes are material, such as a change in how we share your information or in your rights, we will provide additional notice. For example, we may notify you by email if you have subscribed to our list, or by a banner on the site for a reasonable period.

We encourage you to review this page periodically so you stay informed about how we protect your information.
